Christmas markets in the Marche region

Christmas arrives sooner in the Marche region! There is still time for the most awaited days of the year, but our region have decided to anticipate and create events, christmas villages with food and wine, and meetings with Santa!

MakeinMarche has decided to take you to discover the Christmas markets of some municipalities ready to party! Let's start!

In Apiro, in the province of Macerata, from December 7th to 8th, there will be really unforgettable markets where you can rediscover old crafts and enjoy local food and wine, wandering among stalls, medieval games and ... falconers! An exceptional location, given by the Abbey of Sant'Urbano.

In Ascoli Piceno, from December 1st to January 6th, in Piazza Arringo, in the old town, you will find the Christmas village, along with lights, wooden houses and an ice rink that will entertain you all.

In Candelara, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, on November the 24th and 25th, on December 1st/2nd, 8th/9th and 15th/16th, the "Candele a Candelara" there will be the festival "Candele a Candelara", at its 14th edition. The Christmas market takes place in the ancient medieval village, in the picturesque hills around Pesaro. Every evening the artificial lights will be turned off (for 15 minutes at 05.30 pm and at 06.30 pm) to leave room for thousands of lighted candles. A unique atmosphere! In Candelara you will find the living nativity scene, streetfood, shows and the Santa Claus workshop, where children can also meet Santa Claus!

In Fano, from December 1st to January 6th, between Piazza XX Settembre and Corso Matteotti, you will find the Christmas village of Fano. There will be new events every day, including the display of the nativity scene using mechanical actors.

In Fossombrone, from December 8th to January 6th, you will find many food stands, animations for children and the Santa Claus post office, where children can deliver their letters. On December 8th, the city Christmas tree will be turn on.

In Frontone, in the province of Pesaro - Urbino, on November 25th and December 2nd, 8th, 9th, 16th December, the event "In the Castle of Santa Claus" will take place. Inside the castle (heated for the occasion) there will be chestnuts, mulled wine and many gastronomic products. Children can take a picture with Santa Claus too.

In Mombaroccio, in the province of Pesaro, on November 24th and 25th and December 1st,2nd,8th and 9th, many events will take place within the medieval walls, including the living nativity scene and the events inside the municipal theater for young and old. The Christmas Market will be rich not only of local artisans with traditional creations, but also typical food products, cultural events, exhibitions and guided visits to museums. When the sun goes down, a soft artificial snow will make the event even more magical, together with the zampognai.

In Monteprandone, the "Natale al Centopercento" event, which will take place from November 17th November to January 6th at Piazza dell'Unità, will include the Mercatino delle Botteghe Artigiane and an ice-skating ring for the young ones.

In Camerata Picena, in the province of Ancona, on December 10th, there will be workshops, games under the tree, the lottery and the tree that lights up ... pedaling! An appointment for the whole family, including shows and delicacies!

In San Marcello, in the province of Ancona too, on December 1st and 2nd, the 2018 edition of "The Castle of Santa Claus" will be held: craft market, typical food and wine products, Christmas lights, workshops designed for young and old. Santa Claus will also be there and he will welcome all the children in his house and invite them to leave their letter to the post office. There will be entertainment and shows and from 04.00 pm you will fin mulled wine, dorayaki, hot chocolate and typical products. At dinner ... in the cellars of the castle!

In Varano, not far from Ancona, Saturday December 8th and Sunday 9th, starting at 10 am, there will be an event very dear to the people of Varano, the Christmas charity, with stands, crafts, attractions and entertainment for young and old. There will also be many voluntary associations among the stands. Street artists and storytellers will animate the streets of the city.
